GVIN CHAMPP
Musicista · Producer
da 5000 €
In the vibrant, restless heart of Lagos, Gvin Champp is crafting a sonic legacy that refuses to be confined by borders or genres. Born Igiri George Oheji in 1998, this singer, songwriter, producer, and guitarist has emerged as a formidable force in the Nigerian music scene, blending the rhythmic pulse of Afrobeats with the emotional depth of Afrosoul and R&B. His music is more than just a crossover of sounds; it is a raw, unfiltered reflection of his life’s journey, driven by a mission to inspire and a signature hashtag that serves as his North Star: #NoPainNoGain. This philosophy isn’t just a marketing slogan—it is a creed forged in the fires of a challenging upbringing where resilience was the only currency that mattered. The roots of Gvin’s artistry are buried deep in the soil of perseverance. Growing up in a household where financial stability was a constant battle, Gvin witnessed firsthand the grit required to survive. After his father, a lab technologist, lost his job in 2012, his mother stepped into the roles of both a local orthopaedist and a commercial farmer to keep the family afloat. These formative experiences of struggle and sacrifice are the invisible threads woven into his lyrical themes of hope and ambition. While many artists chase the aesthetic of the “struggle,” Gvin lived it, and that authenticity is precisely why his music—a melting pot of Afropop and atmospheric production—resonates so deeply with a global audience. Gvin’s path to the spotlight required a leap of faith that most would find daunting. While studying Library and Information Science at Tai Solarin University of Education, he realized that his true calling wasn’t cataloging books, but rather documenting the human spirit through song. Pausing his studies to pursue music full-time, he quickly proved his mettle with his debut single, “IMPORTANT.” The track, which has already surpassed 10,000 streams on Spotify, serves as a masterclass in fusing introspective storytelling with vibrant, infectious production. This early success caught the attention of major international outlets, leading to a feature on Billboard via the Hit-Boy Beat Exchange and coverage from tastemakers like Vocalo 91.1 FM Chicago, Soaplife Magazine, Thomathy Entertainment, Foxfire Magazine, Wbez Chicago, iMusician Editorial Playlist, TJPL News, PressReader, Spotify Discovery Mood and TheChrdMag Los Angeles. Gvin Champp currently partner with WavDistro and DRVMG Music Distribution for the global distribution of his music, supporting the worldwide release of my Afrosoul and Afrobeats catalogue. On 23 May 2026, he performed his single "IMPORTANT" at BandLab Lagos Loud, sharing the lineup with emerging artists including Kold AF. The event was hosted by ePianoh at Dulce Cafe, providing an important platform to showcase his artistry and further strengthen his presence within Nigeria's contemporary music ecosystem. The Nigerian singer and producer Gvin Champp is the featured artist on the song "BEAT & REPEAT (Beat, Reps, Sweat, Repeat)" by Spanish DJ and music producer David Campoy.
